Boys Room Updates

Well, after having an awesome Patriotic room, the boys were getting a little tired of the same things on their walls because they kept pulling down all the decals, curtains and flag- literally all 3 were on the ground at the same point of time after being pulled down numerous times before and I decided it was time for a change.

Favorite Things Friday: Jensen

To finish the favorite things Friday with my cute kids, last but not least is Jensen:

1. Stride Rite shoes

Stride Rite is always coming up with creative and innovative ideas for kids shoes!  First we tried the Snoot (sneaker and snow boot combined) and they have been SO awesome for Macsen.  The newest thing now is the Phibian Sneaker Sandal.  These can be used as sandals, play shoes, and even dressed up a little...They are comfortable and Jensen loves them.

Favorite Things Friday: Allie

Today we are celebrating Allie's birthday, so it is only fitting that I share the things she is loving right now!

1. Biscotti Dress

Allie was sent this Biscotti dress for review and it came just in time for the Valentine's Day photo shoot I did with the kids.  When she opened this package she freaked out because she loved it so much- the heart print, soft fabric, and the cute cut-out detailing in the back.  She has worn it a lot and it looks great on her!

Favorite Things Friday: Macsen

I share so many of my favorite things, I thought I would do a little mini series of my kid's favorite things.  I'll start with Macsen:

1. The Beach
When we went to San Diego he could have spent the whole trip at the beach.  This boy is going to be a beach bum when he grows up I just know it haha!

Easiest Blackout Curtains for $15!

After having 3 kids and Allie starting school early in the morning my kids bedtime became VERY important to me!  Haha!  Allie and I used to stay up til 1am sometimes when my husband was working full time AND in school full time just so we could see him.  After Macsen came along bedtime was still pretty late- around 9/10pm.  It makes me laugh to say that my kids are now rarely out of their beds later than 8 and I usually get them in their beds at 7!  It is AWESOME and keeps me sane, but when the sun starts hanging around later it created a little bit of a problem- that is, until I made their black out curtains.

How to Train Your Dragon Costumes

I had a lot of questions from my friends about these costumes so I thought I would share how I made them.  I think I ended up spending about 2 hours tops on these and only about $10 or less.  My mom made the boys' Toothless costumes by using Pinterest posts as her guide- you can find those on my Halloween board.

My 3 Fave Kids Hair and Skin Products

I always say it's a good thing I only have one girl because I am really not good at doing my kids' hair.  They have all hated getting their hair washed and brushed and it is such a pain!  I really dread doing it.  I wish I would have found these years ago, so if you struggle like I do, don't wait to try some of these!!

1.  SoCozy Professional Hair Collection for Kids

I have been using the Styling Cream and Styling Gel for Macsen and the Detangling Spray for Allie and I love them all!  They all smell really good and the Styling Gel and Cream aren't really sticky and gross like other ones I've tried.

Cavity-free Kids

I am so fortunate that my kids have not had any cavities yet (knock-on-wood) But, Allie is only 6 and Macsen is just 2 1/2 so we still have lots of time for that to change...however, here are a few things I do to help keep their teeth cavity-free:

1. Try to limit the sugary candy that stays on teeth a long time (think sticky and gummy candy like Swedish fish, Jolly ranchers, etc...)  I really am not a sugar Nazi and we pretty much have candy and sweets at all times in our house, but I try to make sure they don't eat it ALL day and especially not right before bed.  And, if they eat these candies that stay stuck to teeth I try to get them to brush their teeth before too long.

Burt's Bees Baby Giveaway!

It's Spring and that means a new Spring line for Burt's Bees Baby!  Burt's Bees Baby sent me a few things to try on Macsen and Jensen and they are pretty darling!  Jensen wore just this onesie all day on a really nice day we had last week.  It is so soft (like all of their clothing is) and super cute- I decided I love him in gray!

Holiday Gift Guide: Little Duck Organics Giveaway

One of the biggest factors of my "mom guilt" often comes from the food I give my kids.  I really do try to get them to eat healthy, whole foods, but it is so hard some days.  Especially during the holidays.  Which is why Little Duck Organics snacks would be the perfect addition to your holiday shopping list!

Wooden Moving Toys: Part One

This week I am excited to share with you 2 shops from Etsy that specialize in wooden moving toys.  The first one today is Wooden Toys Northwest on Etsy.  Karl, owner of Wooden Toys NW makes amazing trucks, cranes, cars, and trains that would make any little (or big) boy giddy.  Karl sent me a crane and it is so well-made I was very impressed.  Macsen is going to play with it for hours.
