Boys Room Updates

Well, after having an awesome Patriotic room, the boys were getting a little tired of the same things on their walls because they kept pulling down all the decals, curtains and flag- literally all 3 were on the ground at the same point of time after being pulled down numerous times before and I decided it was time for a change.

Master Bedroom Reveal (For Now)

Well, there are still quite a few things I plan on doing in here- mostly adding the bedside lamps to the wall and then decorating those tables and tying it all together.  But, for now I thought I would share what I have done.

5 Inexpensive Ways to Redecorate

Some of you may have seen my Instagram pic a few months ago about my room redo.  If you didn't, as you can see I didn't make many changes but it sure felt good to rearrange and make things feel new again!

I decided to share a few of the things that I like to do when I am sick of my home decor and need a change.

Allie & Macsen's Room Reveal!

Well, I FINALLY put together the finishing touches for Allie and Macsen's room on Saturday and took some pictures!  Here are a few of my inspiration images for the room:

And here is the finished product:

Wood letters from Craft cuts
Giraffe pillow from Chic Decor Pillows on Etsy
Pompom pillows handmade by me :)
White down comforter from Ikea

Lantern mobile from Janiegirl crafts on Etsy
Pom poms added to mobile from Perfect Poms on Etsy
Steiff bear- gift from the grandparents :)
Stripes on the wall- contact paper (thrifted)

More details about the letters since I get a lot of questions on those:
The font was Quorum Blk BT.  I did the size 16 inch with 1/4 thickness and it is perfect for hanging on the wall with a couple nails at that thickness.  I also had to stain it myself, but that was a cinch and I just bought a tiny thing of stain at Walmart and a foam brush.

Crib Skirt from Carousel Designs

Changing cover- Wendy Bellissimo (thrifted)

Turquoise vase- thrifted
Horse piggy bank- Dollar store
Mirror- thrifted
Flowers- thrifted

Quilt- Made by my mom!
Thermal blanket- my old baby blanket with satin edge added

Sunshine print- Sugarfresh Etsy shop.
Frames- thirfted

Embroidered Picture - gift from my sister :)

It is so nice to finally have this room done!  Now my goal is to have Macsen sleeping in his crib before he turns 3 months old in February!

Macsen's Crib Bedding

This last weekend was a very productive one for me.  Trey was out of town for a couple days (Thursday and Friday) so I spent them working on the kids' room and that tufted headboard I have been talking about making for years now.

On Friday, I got a very fun package in the mail from Carousel Designs:

I received a chocolate brown pleated crib skirt for Macsen's crib!  I decided, why not set it all up and surprise Trey when he got home?

Georgia-based Carousel Designs, a contemporary and trend setting leader in the baby bedding industry was founded in 1988.   For more than 23 years, Carousel Designs has manufactured high quality baby bedding, toddler, twin and full/queen size bedding and nursery décor.

Carousel Designs has a nursery designer tool, which is SO perfect for people like me that can't just visualize what something is going to look like before I put it together and you can make your own custom crib bedding.

The company also offers more than 100 pre-designed ready to ship crib bedding collections and more than 300 fabrics to choose from in a range of versatile styles.  For more information visit www.babybedding.com.

The brown on this crib skirt is the color of the one I got for Macsen.  It looks SO good with his white crib and cream crib sheet!  You know how much I love contrast in decorating...

Anyway, I was totally impressed with the crib skirt.  Not only is the fabric so nice, but it was wrinkle-free when it arrived and required no ironing from me!  It also hung really nicely and hides all the junk I am going to store under the crib!  Hooray for storage space when you live in an apartment!

When Trey saw it he smiled but was mad at me for doing it all by myself 7 months pregnant :)  I think he was secretly really happy that he wasn't going to have to do it though...

I was going to post a pic of the crib, but I am waiting to have the sweet quilt my mom is making for him-it ties the room all together and I am so excited for it!

Stay tuned for the big reveal!

Planning Kids' Boy and Girl Room

I know I have already posted on this here, but I am getting more excited about Allie & Macsen's room as things are starting to come together.  Fortunately, I have been able to incorporate some of my future review and giveaway products into the room, and I am really excited to share those with you.  So far here are the main changes I am going to be making:

Hanging lanterns, pom poms, and stringing circle garlands over the crib...not sure how I am going to do this yet or how it will turn out, but can't wait to start.

Big letter "A" and big letter "M" above crib and bed.

2 big pictures above Allie's bed of Allie and Macsen.

Striped accent wall on Macsen's side of the room (turquoise.)

Color combo of yellow, blue, and turquoise with lots of white/cream and some dark browns.

And for the first review/giveaway coming up on the blog: Giraffe pillows on Allie's bed (where you see these zebra ones-behind the others in a big square size.)

Being SO ready to start working out again in January...is it really that far away? :(

And make sure you stop by next week because I will have a SUPER awesome giveaway starting up.

Dream House: Master Bedroom

Number one priority for me in my dream master bedroom: a big, super comfy bed.  I love canopy beds, but it that is not that important to me.  From these images you can see my love for crisp, fluffy, white bedding.

I also wouldn't mind a room with a view:

Love this color combo:

I would stay in bed all Saturday morning if this was mine:

I love this wooden headboard:

I also love simple, cushy, tufted headboards:

Comfy bay windows are my fave.
Don't you want to go pick up that book and read there forever?

How do you like this big window:

Pretty little side tables are also a must-have:

And a sitting area wouldn't be too bad either:
