I have been talking your ears off writing your eyes off about all the things we have been doing to the house and now I am finally going to share some before and afters!
I didn't count the fridge as part of our budget for the remodel, because we had to buy one when we moved in anyways.
Read about our budget here!
I will be linking here!
I can't believe you let the old owner take those bull horns with them when they moved. ;) It was really an addition to the space.
ReplyDeleteJust Kidding! You did a great job! I can't wait to see it in person.
Yeah, we totally should have requested those bull horns as part of the deal...dangit! :) Thanks! You need to come see it when we are all better!
DeleteSo pretty! It looks like it should be in a magazine!
ReplyDeleteWell thank ya sister!
DeleteI'm quite jealous, actually! This is fantastic! You did an amazing job!

ReplyDelete-Lora
Thanks! I got it on clearance on Home Depot.com!
DeleteIncredible after, it looks so clean and gorgeous. I am going to be sharing this in a roundup on COM. I would love it if you could include where you are linking at? I don't see COM-MON. linked up anywhere, if I am mistaken I apologize. Thanks, jen
ReplyDeleteThat would be great! Thanks so much Jennie! I usually just post a link to all the parties I link to at the bottom of my post - it is so much work to include every single button to each blog, and my "parties I link to" page actually generates quite a bit of traffic from my blog so I am getting a lot of exposure for those blogs even when I am not linking to their parties. If that is a problem though, feel free to take my link off your party and sorry for the inconvenience. :)
DeleteThat turned out very nice and I love the clock! :)
ReplyDeleteMarti
Thanks! I got the clock on CSN stores.com in case you were wondering :)
DeleteWhat brand and color paint did you use for you cabinets?
ReplyDeleteThe cabinets were a challenge! I will probably do a whole post on what I did (including everything I did wrong:) But, in the end I liked the brilliant white by Behr (semi-gloss) I think it was a paint and primer in one, but I didn't have them mix any color at all in it because the paint I used before looked yellow! :(
DeleteGorgeous painted cabinets! I am SO hoping I can painted mine this year. I'm featuring you in the PoPP Spotlight this weekend. Thanks for linking up to the party.
ReplyDeleteThank you! And thanks so much for the feature!
DeleteWow it looks so amazing! Great job, I'm excited to see how you decorate the rest of your house. Good inspiration :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks so bright and inviting now. Fantastic job!
ReplyDeleteWonderful kitchen makeover. I'm always amazed by the power of paint...and granite, and fixtures, and curtains!!! It all goes together perfectly. :)
ReplyDeleteWOWZA! You're kitchen looks awesome... I LOVE that chandelier! Thanks for linking up to Monday Funday!
ReplyDeleteIt looks really awesome! I love the choice you made on the knobs/pulls...it's a little different but it makes it look original. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the white cabinets with the metal (copper?) drawer pulls and knobs - such a great accent detail that really pops! Congratulations on your new kitchen! :) (Visiting you via Kim's blog party at 733 blog!)
ReplyDeleteWow! It's a great kitchen now! I love a white kitchen so much. Can you tell me what your countertops are?
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! My countertops are granite- you can read more about them here: http://thehillsarelivin.blogspot.com/2012/10/remodeling-your-kitchen-on-budget.html
DeleteSo pretty! I found you on Better After. Can you tell me where you found your dining room light? I've been looking for something like that that would work on our vaulted ceiling. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYes! I love my light and it was on clearance for $43 at Home Depot.com! You can find it here:

Did you make or buy the slipcovers for your chairs?
ReplyDeleteI got 2 of the slipcovers at Goodwill and just pinned them with safety pins to fit my curved chairs (thinking I will replace them someday soon and possibly with square-backs.) I made the slipcover for 1 of the chairs though (the one with less fabric)
DeleteHi there! I'm visiting from Better After :-)
ReplyDeleteWow what a transformation! Your layout is almost exactly like my parents kitchen/dining area and I have been dreaming about a redo just like this for them for e.v.e.r! What's stopping me? They like their wood cabinets :-( The cabinets aren't even very good quality and frankly would benefit greatly from painting! Ah but I can dream....and keep your photos for inspiration if the day ever comes when I get to influence them ;-) For some reason, they just don't trust me, their interior decorator daughter. {sigh}
LOVE LOVE LOVE the 'after' of your room! Definitely a two thumbs up!
Thank you! Hopefully you can convince them, but honestly, I would avoid painting cabinets at all costs if I were you! haha
DeleteI love love love your redo! I'm a big fan of white kitchens! Your layout is so similar to my parent's kitchen/dining area. I've often dreamed of a redo like this for them. But they like it 'as is' so...... :-)
ReplyDeleteIn our former house, I got tired of the wood toned cabinets and painted them a creamy white. Wow it really opened up our small eat-in kitchen. Never regretted doing that! I loved them.
What a beautiful job on your entire kitchen/dining area!
Your new Kitchen is gorgeous! I love how it turned out! Thanks for sharing! Julia @ juliakendrick.com
ReplyDeleteI love the bar stools. Where did you find them?
ReplyDeleteThe bar stools were a garage sale find- $5 each!
DeleteGreat job! I love a white kitchen, but with two littles at home I'm scared to do it myself.

ReplyDeleteLovely and much inspiring way to organize your kitchen and corridors in a very simpler way, with such a little effort, this really inspired me and being one of the NYC Professional organizer I'm gonna try it in one of my organizing services.
ReplyDeleteI saw this on Pinterest and it's brilliant! Amazing use of color (or lack there of)! Love it!

The kitcken looks amazing! I am wanting to paint our brown kitchen cabinets white but everyone I talk to said to just buy new ones... how did you do it?
ReplyDeleteCOSprings2025- I didn't do a very good job...I should have sanded them down better (I just lightly sanded then cleaned with TCP) Then I used a Kilz primer that gets rid of the yellow and a couple/few coats of a really good bright white Behr paint. There were a couple spots that peeled because I didn't sand, but I think they wouldn't have if I had kept the heat up in the house the week after they dried. Hope that helps!
